Welcome

[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia.

You might find these links helpful in editing pages or creating new ones: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

But don't feel you have to read every policy document before you do anything. Dive in, be bold in editing, and if you do anything wrong, someone will be quick to correct it and let you know (hopefully, politely!)

You can help improve the articles listed below! This list updates frequently, so check back here for more tasks to try. (See Wikipedia:Maintenance or the Task Center for further information.)

Expand short articles

Help counter systemic bias by creating new articles on important women.

Help improve popular pages, especially those of low quality.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too, as I've done below. This is most useful on talk pages rather than main articles.

Again, welcome! --ALargeElk 11:30, 19 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I would guess you have a problem with your browser or your skin settings. All equations are showing up just fine for me. Perhaps m:Help:Formula might offer insight, although I haven't read it. You can ask the folks at the Help desk, who might have a better guess than I and might be able to offer a solution. Isomorphic 05:02, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Hey, what's up. Been too long. I personally know jack squat about the Controlled Substances Act, but I'm not too surprised that it's got bias issues. Some topics are interesting only to people with certain non-mainstream viewpoints, so only those people edit them. I'll post a POV notice (you just do {{subst:npov}}) and put an explanation on the talk page. You can sign talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). I have no idea whether there's a central list of all the tags like {{npov}} or {{stub}}, but I'll post a question on the help desk. Someone might know. Oh, and I'll send you an email with my new email address. I'm still in the area, so we ought to stay in touch. Isomorphic 15:44, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Courtesy of the fine folks at the help desk, I bring you: Wikipedia:Template messages. It has more than I ever knew or cared to know about the various templates we have. Isomorphic 16:04, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Refractory metals

[edit]

Hi Dr. I wrote most of the article, but I am a chemist and not very good in material science, so if you add something I will try to improve it with my knowledge. --Stone (talk) 21:50, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Radiative equilibrium

[edit]

Your attention is required, can we remove the "tone" lede of that article? Any suggestions? Thanks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Radiative_equilibrium#Remove_of_tone_notice — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prokaryotes (talkcontribs) 08:00, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
